Nifty Fifties

Because our school was deemed an Excelling School by the Arizona Department of Education, we decided to have the students celebrate in 50's style. Students put on their 50's gear, played 50's type games, devoured root-beer floats and danced to some familiar 50's tunes. It was a very fun day!

Family Pet

Our family has a new pet. It just showed up one day to play and has stuck around. I told everyone not to feed it because it would surely stay. No one listened to me however, and our new kitty-cat has found a new home.

Our kitty loves getting her ears scratched, and rubbing her face against your arm or leg. She has a very distinctive meow, and meows often. Her tail is very long, so sometimes it gets stepped on. She is a big kitty, but very sweet and gentle.

One day, the kitty must have slipped into the car on our way to school. I didn't realize that she was with us until I saw her perky ears creep out of the MyMy's backpack in my classroom. MyMy was excited to have the kitty at school and was eagerly hoping that the Mommy would allow kitty to spend the day with her. But, pets are not allowed at school so the kitty had to stay in the very hot car for the entire school day. It was a blessing that no harm came to the kitty after spending the day in the hot desert sun.

Kitty is her name, and although her name is not very original, it fits her perfectly. I have included a picture of our new family pet. We love her, and hope you will too!

A Proud Moment

A few weeks back the girls had their swim-team awards party. It was an evening spent by the pool. Pizza was served, awards were given, and then, finally, a night of fun swim was given to the swimmers.

The LuLu earned, for the second year in the row, the most improved swimmer award. An award very well earned! Hurray to LuLu for improving this year and last!

The MyMy was just happy to be a part of the night. She loved swimming for fun, and eating her pretty pink cupcake.

Now, off to soccer!
